Customer Development Manager

mySidewalk’s next Customer Development Manager will require someone that loves helping public agencies use data to reach their full potential. This person has experience in and around the public sector with thought leaders, city leaders and citizens to quickly drive results. Our next Customer Development Manager does not sit still and uses their “mover and shaker” mentality to constantly push those around them. They understand where the industry is headed and will stop at nothing to get others to the same finish line.


The kind of problems you’ll help us solve:

  • How should City departments and agencies track and measure their performance today?

  • How do we best serve city leaders, staff, and residents with our technology?

  • How do we scale our efforts to help more of our customers and prospective customers?

  • What strategy best connects our technology to thought leaders in the public sector?


How you’ll solve those problems:

Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with our customers.

  • Execute a customer onboarding process that:

    1. 1) Reveals critical community-based insights in the first 90 days

    2. 2) Integrates our product into the workflow of analysts and decision-makers

    3. 3) Helps our customer connect with other departments or civic organizations, leading to broader adoption and expansion of our product and services

  • Create communities of practice within our customer base to connect best practices across the country and foster a learning environment

  • Open conversations with current industry relationships to help enhance our customer knowledge, product research, and our sales strategy

Infuse your industry knowledge into the customer process.

  • Help us refine our key customer personas and align our customer journey (onboard to renewal) in a way that meets the persona’s needs and desired results.

  • Ramp up our participation in trade shows and and regional professional meetings through active business development.

  • Offer brand and marketing ideas that draw on your own thought leadership from experience in the space as well as relationships with our customer base


You’ll help us solve those problems if you:

  • Have exposure to the public sector and/or performance management

  • Are comfortable with data and believe in the potential of using data to drive decision-making

  • Persuade and influence, using appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to gain acceptance of thoughts, plans, activities, services and products

  • Actively listen, hear, and understand what is said and not said to properly ascertain needs

  • Desire to independently interact with multi-functional teams

  • Communicate effectively at all levels of an organization, from individual contributors to C-level
